A Lifelong Passion
I'm Mary James, a luxury hairstylist with over two decades in the beauty industry and the founder of The James Edit. I've been drawn to this craft for as long as I can remember. There's photo proof of me at two years old doing my mom's hair, blowdryer in one hand and round brush in the other.
Decades of Dedication
Licensed since 2001, hair has been my life's work, shaped by years of advanced education, hands-on experience, and a deep respect for the craft. Every technique I've learned and every client I've served has brought me closer to understanding what true quality means.
In Honor of James
I created The James Edit in honor of my father, James, and the legacy of steadiness, integrity, and care he left behind. His handwriting lives in our branding, a reminder that everything we build carries his spirit of doing things the right way.
Built for Stylists
As a stylist myself, I understand the pressure that comes with being behind the chair. My goal is to remove the stress from the hair portion of your service. Everything I build is done with intention, from the quality of the hair to the support we provide.
